In early April 2026, we invited the Danish LGBTQ+ media XQ28 to Miami on behalf of The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau. The visit showcased the city’s impressive annual Rainbow Spring program and highlighted Miami’s strong all-year-round commitment to diversity and inclusion.
The press trip program allowed the participants the chance to partake in several of Rainbow Spring’s key events, including the world-famous Miami Beach Pride and the iconic Drag Me to Brunch at R House Wynwood. The guests were offered first-hand insight into Miami’s vibrant LGBTQ+ community, cultural diversity, and inclusive experiences, presenting the destination through both established events and local voices.
At a time when LGBTQ+ communities are facing increasing pressure in several parts of the world, the City of Miami has made a clear commitment to maintaining and strengthening its global reputation as an open, welcoming, and inclusive destination – always. Through continued support from city leadership and the local tourism industry, Miami has chosen to stand firm on its values and keep diversity and inclusion at the core of its destination strategy.
Through extensive editorial coverage and social media activities before, during, and after the trip, XQ28’s journalist documented the efforts made by the city and the tourism board to counter negative trends and reinforce Miami’s inclusive positioning.
Overall, the press trip generated strong and credible visibility for Greater Miami and Miami Beach in one of Denmark’s most important LGBTQ+ media outlets, reinforcing Miami’s relevance in the market and contributing to long-term destination awareness among a highly engaged target group.
