Havila Kystruten has chosen Related as PR agency in Sweden. Related will assist Havila Kystruten with tasks such as press releases, media surveillance, media events, and ongoing dialogue with the media in Sweden.

 

Havila Kystruten is a Norwegian shipping company that sails the classic coastal journey between Bergen and Kirkenes with some of the most environmentally friendly ships in the world.

The four new ships are loaded with the world’s largest battery pack so that you can sail through vulnerable fjords for four hours without noise or emissions. The batteries are recharged by pure hydropower when the ship is ashore, and when the batteries are empty, they are being switched to natural gas, which cuts CO2 by around 25 percent. The hull is specially designed for maximum energy efficiency, and surplus heat from cooling water and sea is used for heating on board.

 

Short-traveled food from local producers is on the menu, and all unnecessary plastic has been cut away. Havila Kystruten is already exceeding the authorities’ requirements for emission cuts and have set sail with zero emissions as our goal.

 

Havila Kystruten is part of the Havila Group, with roots all the way back to the 1950s when the father of the founder, Per Sævik, bought his first fishing boat. Per himself bought his first boat before he was confirmed. From doing fisheries and herring fishing, Havila is now a group that operates within ship technology, offshore, transport and tourism.
