Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has appointed Related as a partner to market the destination in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Finland.  The contract includes both strategy development and campaigns within PR, B2B/B2C promotional and marketing activities with the aim to position the Maldives as the leading island destination in the world and to increase the number of Nordic visitors.

“We are honored and very proud to be adding Visit Maldives to our client list. The Maldives is a fantastic destination with a unique archipelago that offers one of the most colorful underwater worlds on the planet. The destination is best known for its white paradise beaches, barefoot luxury and world-class snorkeling. But the Maldives is more than relaxation and romance for affluent travelers, it is a destination that offers a diversity of experiences and activities of all ranges. In addition, it is a destination where responsible travel, respect for nature and the environment come firsthand”, says our CEO, Henrik Koch.

For a number of years now, there have been hotels operating on the local islands, which has made it possible for travelers with smaller budgets to visit the islands. The local islands in the Maldives are therefore much more affordable than many of the resort islands. The Maldives is also one of the safest destinations to travel to during these challenging times. Its unique geography of scattered islands ensures social distancing naturally along with stringent health and safety measures. The practice of the ‘One-island-one-resort’ concept guarantees that there will be only one resort hotel establishment on each island, providing plenty of isolation and privacy for the guests.

Henrik Koch continues: “Our goal is to get more people to travel to the Maldives from the Nordic region. When the pandemic is over, we believe that more people than ever will make their dream trip to the Maldives a reality, regardless of whether you want to live in an exclusive island resort, a local guesthouse, or do a combination of the two”.

“We are looking forward to working with Related. They have many years of experience in the industry and solid knowledge of the Nordic market. We see great potential for the Maldives in the region, and with our partnership with Related, we will have a bigger presence in the Nordic market than ever before”, says Mr. Thoyyib Mohamed, the Managing Director of Visit Maldives.
