Related signs first cruise line contract

This year Related won its first contract with a cruise line – Costa Cruises – part of Carnival Corporation, who has 8 sub brands and operates a total of 103 ships – with 18 new ships to be delivered before 2022 – and a market share of 47%.

Costa Cruises has a total of 18 ships – and 5 on the way. They focus heavily on sustainability and economic contribution, while embodying Italian lifestyle, design and cuisine.

The contract was initiated in August and since then we have been working closely together on a number of PR projects – influencer and media trips, press releases and pitches, media and market analysis etc. The main task is, however, the launch of Costa’s newest flagship: Costa Smeralda, which is the first Costa Cruises ship powered by liquefied natural gas. LNG is the world’s cleanest burning fossil fuel, which will minimize the environmental impact. The introduction of LNG-fueling enables the virtual total elimination of sulfur dioxide emissions and particulate matter and is in many ways groundbreaking. The launch is expected to happen in 2019 and a number of PR activities related to the launch are currently in the works.

– We are extremely excited to be working with our first cruise line – especially since it’s such an important player as Costa Cruises, says Related CEO, Henrik Koch.
