Last week, Christina and Hanna visited our client The Fontenay in Hamburg to experience the new five-star superior hotel which officially opens today, March 19 – and to discuss upcoming PR activities for the hotel.
During the visit, they both enjoyed tasty and creative cakes, got a site inspection of the hotel and had a nice meal in the Park View restaurant. After a good night’s sleep in the extra-long beds and a lovely breakfast, Hanna and Christina went to visit the modern spa area on the 6th floor with panorama view over lake Alster and Hamburg’s skyline.
The Fontenay is designed by the local Hamburg architect Jan Störmer who has been inspired by the green park and the lake surrounding the hotel. The result is a spectacular sculptural design which organic shapes makes you think of large treetops and creates the perfect balance between nature and urban living. Further, the hotel is covered by no less than 14,000 square meters of glass, which makes the indoor bath in natural light.
In the rooms, which due to the hotel’s round shapes don’t have any straight walls, the big panorama floor-to-ceiling windows makes sure to bring the nature inside. The rooms all have high-quality wood flooring, extra-long beds and custom-made furniture. The hotel is part of the international brand Leading Hotels of the World, has 130 rooms and is located only a few minutes from the city’s biggest shopping promenade.
