On October 1st, 2025, 7A Strandvägen in Stockholm came alive with the colours, warmth, and spirit of Kerala – the southern Indian state famously known as “God’s Own Country”. On behalf of Kerala Tourism, Related hosted and coordinated an inspiring evening that brought Kerala’s essence to the heart of the Swedish travel trade.
Related managed the project from start to finish — beginning with screening the market to identify a venue that best matched the client’s requirements, expectations, and budget. Once the location was secured, we took care of the full invitation process, reaching out to key travel trade professionals in Sweden. Throughout the planning phase, we maintained close dialogue with both the client and the venue to ensure every detail aligned with the vision.
Together with Kerala Tourism, we shaped the event format and ensured seamless execution on-site — from welcoming guests to coordinating the evening’s flow. Hanna Johansson from Related acted as compere, guiding guests through the program and ensuring a memorable experience for everyone.
The goal was clear: to strengthen Kerala’s position in the Nordic market and foster lasting partnerships within the travel industry.
The evening began with relaxed mingling, setting a friendly tone that encouraged new connections. Guests then took part in an interactive workshop with Kerala’s tourism suppliers – including hotels, DMCs, and resort representatives – gaining valuable insights and inspiration directly from those who know the destination best.
The formal program opened with a welcome by Hanna Johansson from Related, followed by an address from Mr. Anurag Bhushan, IFS, Ambassador of India to Sweden, who highlighted India’s growing potential as a destination for Nordic travellers. The program continued with a presentation by Mr. Biju K IAS, Secretary – Kerala Tourism, who shared the latest developments and the many reasons Kerala continues to captivate travellers worldwide – from its lush backwaters and beaches to its deep-rooted wellness traditions and vibrant culture.
As the evening unfolded, guests enjoyed a dinner infused with authentic Indian flavours, reflecting the generosity and hospitality that Kerala is known for. The night concluded with prize giveaways and lively conversations, leaving attendees inspired, connected, and eager to explore new travel opportunities.
In 2024, more than 4,500 Swedes travelled to Kerala – making Sweden the largest Nordic market for India. With a growing interest in long-haul and experience-rich travel, Kerala is perfectly positioned to welcome even more Nordic visitors in the years ahead.
By blending professional networking with authentic cultural storytelling, Related helped Kerala Tourism create more than just an event – it became an experience that built genuine connections between “God’s Own Country” and the Nordic travel trade.
